lol.. none of this makes sense. when games first come out, they're more likey to have bugs, imbalance, dupers, hacks, and all sorts of nesting problems, that only get worse if they dont get fixed.
"nerfs" and "buffs" make the game more balanced, more playable for everyone, and keep the game fresh. if you feel like making 500k in 3 hours is fair, while others suffer massive price fluxes that are new to the game, go play WoW or EQ where none of the prices make sense. i rather work for what i get, and not have it practically thrown on me, because i made the exact replica of some other goons build, and run the same brainless operation of killing some npcs for some dirty money.

I came to GW rather late, after all 3 campaigns were out (got all 3 in a boxed set for $45, yea). So I finished Props first, did a little Factions, then skipped to NF. So I really can't say what this game was like "before" but I'm still having a great time (yes even in EOTN).
Most MMO's you have to make a ton of money to be able to outfit your character in order to compete with others. I hated that. Even though I farm once in awhile, you don't need to. I have around 340k in less than a year simply from playing the game, and not spending alot of money needlessly. Now I know that is not alot compared to some players but what do I need it for? So the economy to me is not a real big deal.
So for now, to me, the game is still fun and going strong. I just hope that GW2 incorporates some of the options that alot of people are crying for now (housing, auction house, etc).
The only let down for me was that I don't think PvP is as strong as it could have been. I came from a MMO that had a persistant world alot larger than GW and you could PvP in battles with a few hundred people at the same time. I liked the bigger battles across emense landscapes, never knowing who might be coming up behind you while you track down your next prey.
All in all I say GJ Anet.

It's understandable to an extend why nerfs happen. However, when they chose to nerf a particular profession to the ground (i.e. Assassins and paragons) by sapping all the usability or purpose of a skill, it renders that skill completely useless. And Anet understands/complies with it like it's no big deal. They probably don't play too much assassin anyway, so they were like "buh-bye sinny sin sins!" and clicked the nerf-button on them multiple times...
And then they buff junk skills on top of that...? Oooh, Healing Breeze FTL. WoH isn't going to keep a whole party alive. LoD would but nowadays it just screams "interrupt me plz!".
And you are right, it makes the game more playable for everyone, esp. casual players with wammos that bring Healing Breeze, Restore Life, Mending and 5 attack skills... >.>

i've been playing sin since they came out, and its one of my main two classes (warrior and sin) with mesmer and paragon very close behind, and i've never had a problem with any of the nerfs to sin, mesmer, or paragon. if you can't adapt, dont play the class, and to say anet doesnt play, or know how to use a class they made, makes me laugh.
also, WoHs buff IS powerful enough to keep a team alive, and LoD was meta breaking in most top tier arenas, so its nerf was long over-due. in pve, pair it with HH, and dont complain, end of story.
and btw, not all casual players are total noobs, and moreso than that, whats the problem with making "bad" skills usable again.
all MMOs evolve, update, and adapt... if they're a good MMO.
GWs is one of the few good MMOs.
